CISG
CISG applies to cross-border sales of goods if both parties have their establishment in a Contracting State of the CISG Convention (CISG - Convention on the International Sale of Goods) or the law applicable to the contract is the law of a Contracting State. With the exception of electrical energy, aircrafts, ships and securities CISG applies in general to all contracts between companies on sale of goods.
The CISG is a fusion of Common Law and Civil Law. There are numerous international databases and commentaries available on the CISG. On specific questions the Advisory Committee of the UNCITRAL has issued so-called Advisory Committee Opinions.
Contracts under the CISG often include ICC Incoterms as well as other specific clauses of the maritime transport, shipping business and banking (L/C conditions).
